Could it be, that you happen to have some software installed on your computer,
which keeps throwing the malware on the system? Unfortunately, there is some
Malware out there, which is constructed the way, that it is "baked into" a
legitimate piece of software. So even if you remove the malware itself, next
time you run the piece of software in question, it reinstalls the malware. If
you are running any software that you downloaded from some kind of a webpage,
and you are not sure if it is all safe, you may want to turn it off. Run a scan
with Malware, and remove any threats found. Run a second scan with
Anti-malwarebytes, and see if the threats reappear. If not, then try to start
your software, and now do a scan with Malwarebytes, and see if things reappear.
Some software may be started automatically when you boot the system, and could
be sitting in the background and puffing malwares onto your system. So, make
sure, your startup records are as clean as possible. It may even be, th
at a given piece of software may not be known to MalwareBytes, and hence it
may only remove the effects of the software. Use a second scanner, to check for
any further threats. There is a couple of Anti-software out there, that may be
worth a try. First of all, run a deep scan with your anti-virus. Second try
something like SuperAntiSpyware. Third, you may want to try an online scanner,
like the Safety Scanner from Microsoft. First you have a malware on your
system, it sometimes take several scans to get rid of it, and several removal
tools.

You could also be in need of a registry cleanup, after the removal from
Malwarebytes. CCleaner is one software that works OK with WE, and which could
be a useful tool in your hand. Recently someone here on the list suggested
another maintenence software, named ErrorExpert. I went to their homepage, paid
a low fee, and got the software. It sure took care of some stuff that none of
the other anti-software on my system had detected. And, ErrorExpert gives your
registry a pretty good vacuum as well. I think they had a demo version
available, which you could try, to see if it catches something extra.

Please, also try to reboot immediately after a malware removal. Never think
that just restarting the computer will do the trick. Make sure the computer is
totally turned off, before restarting it. Any kind of hybernation mode, or just
logging off and back on, may not be enough.

In MalwareBytes, be sure to run a full system scan. If you run just a quick
scan, it may be able to pick up some of the effects of software, but not
necessarily the real cause of the trouble. And, of course, if you are on a
multi-account computer, make sure you run the scan from an account with full
Administrator rights. Otherwise, it may remove malware found on your account,
but not necessarily pick up what is on the main account of your system, or on
any other user's account.

Finally, you may have been hit by a piece of malware, that sits in the very
bottom of your Windows. You then would need a scan, that performs through boot
up. This is a bit more tricky, since you then will have to perform a scan,
without the screen reader, so you may want to do it, by help of a couple of
eyes. SuperAntiSpyware, for one, does have a built-in capability to perform a
Boot Up Scan. Whether MalwareBytes does have such capability, I am not sure
right off-hand. Even your Anti-Virus software, may have this kind of feature.

Sorry, I have used several anti-malware programs up through the years, and I
often find that none of them are perfect. They simply cannot find all the
millions of possible threats, any of them. Doesn't matter paid for or free
versions. So, just because Malwarebytes may be missing out on some stuff right
now, don't think that your money iswaisted. Likely, once you get rid of the
stuff on your computer, you may find that Malwarebytes keeps it pretty clean.
As a matter of fact, the reason why I got Malwarebytes myself, is that it
managed to pick up certain trash, that none of the other software packages had
discovered. But also, as in the case with Error Expert, other software have
been able to pick up what Malwarebytes missed.

Hope any of these suggestions will prove helpful to you. I did have a similar
case on one of my systems, but can't remember if it was Malwarebytes or another
anti-malware, that kept removing things that just reappeared over and over
again. All I know, is that it was not solved, until I ran another anti-scanner,
and this time the thing was finally removed. After that, I haven't seen this
kind of behavior. Malware is trashware, and it sometimes get pretty sticky. So
you may have to run several scans, with different scanners, before things get
removed.

A couple of reminders at the end, I will leave you as well. Go through the
settings in your anti-malware software, and make sure it does perform as
thorough a cleanup as ever possible. It may then remove things that should not
be removed, like license keys for certain software. So, you may have to
reinstall some of your stuff. But sometimes, this is necessary in order to get
rid of the trash. And, if you are not fully dependent on rolling your system
back to a previous state, you may want to perform the following steps:

1. Turn off any system restoring points.
2. Reboot your system.
3. Perform a thorough clean up, using at least a couple of anti-software.
4. Reboot your system.
5. Run a second clean up, making sure things really got clean.
6. Turn on System Restoring again, should you desire so.
7. Reboot your system, and things now should be better. :)

Subject: Malware Bytes Pro

Hi All,

I have installed the pro version of Malware bytes. When the scan completes,
I'm shown a list of all malware found on my computer. I click on all the
infected items and when I click on the fix selected or what ever it said to
remove the infected items, it says all infected items were removed
successfully. Then if I scan again, the same items keep showing up. Am I
doing something wrong? I have the paid version of this software which is
coming due again but if it isn't getting rid of the malware it's of no good to
me. Anybody else use this program and have you found a way to get rid of the
malware? I was looking for a select all button or some other means to select
items but haven't found any.

Regards,

Alan
