There may be one other consideration for those who are trying to decide whether
to continue upgrading their retail copy of Window-Eyes or go the free route.
No one except GW Micro and Microsoft knows how long this partnership will last.
If it lasts through several paid versions of Window-Eyes, those who go for the
free version of Window-Eyes and decide not to continue upgrading their retail
version may be in for some sticker shock if the agreement ends at some point
and they need to pay for upgrades to their retail version of Window-Eyes and
purchase an SMA. Fortunately, they have some time to decide about purchasing
upgrades since none are probably forthcoming in the immediate future and SMA
purchases are currently suspended.

  Jeremy ,

What happens to those of us who have both a retail copy and a copy of
qualifying Office?

Jeremy: You can continue to use the retail version just as you always have
or choose to use the Office offer. It is up to you. Remember that you will
get unlimited tech support with the retail version, as well as additional
synthesizers.

Do we need to get the WE for Office?

Jeremy: It is your option to get either one.

I happen to have both a retail copy with one SMA left, and a licence for
Office 2010.

Can the users of the WE for Office take their copies to the flash drive like
we with the retail package can?

Jeremy: Yes, the two programs are functionally identical.

Can the users of WE for Office take their copy of WE to other computers not
running Office like we can with the retail copy?

Jeremy: If the computer does not have Office 2010 or later installed and you
are using the Office offer, then it will revert to a 30-minute demo copy.

When the SMA is used on the next version of WE will that used SMA be the last
of the unlimited support?

Jeremy: You will get unlimited support as long as you have a retail copy, and
as long as we can still support that version.. Please note that sometimes an
upgrade may be required. For example, it would be impossible for us to support
Window-Eyes 1.0 today.

After the last SMA is used will we old retail purchasers, be in the position
to purchase the 12x12 support package or the one time incident support package?

Jeremy: If you continue to pay for upgrades, you will continue to have
unlimited support. Also, see the above answer.

If We retail purchasers have used the last Sma but have a qualifying copy of
Office, what happens to our retail licence?

Jeremy: You will continue to own your retail copy. It does not go away.

Do we end up with two licenses? One retail copy that requires a separate
upgrade purchase, and the WE for Office that will keep upgrading with the
supported Office suites?

Jeremy: You can only install one version at a time, so it will be up to you
to decide which one you want to use. Again, the retail version has many
benefits as noted above.

  Thanks,

  Jeremy

  How does this work?

  Thanks

  Shannon

  Greetings,

We have been receiving many questions from our valued Window-Eyes customers
regarding future upgrades and SMAs. We want to reassure you that we will
continue to develop Window-Eyes and that we plan to honor SMAs just as we have
in the past. We also want to remind our current Window-Eyes customers that you
receive benefits not provided by the offer for users of Microsoft Office, such
as free unlimited technical support. This is a huge advantage to owning an
SMA. You also are able to take advantage of an ad-free experience with
GWConnect and you will receive a physical DVD (or other media) when the next
upgrade becomes available. For our customers who do not have an SMA or Office,
you will still be able to purchase upgrades just as you always have.

We want to thank everyone for your support as GW Micro strives to continue to
serve our customers in the best possible manner.

  All the Best,

  Jeremy
