Hi,
Sluggishness in Kurzweil 1000 while Window-Eyes is running can be seen
when working with large documents which have
not been split into pages by Kurzweil's default page splitter.
The solution is to use a new version of the page splitter posted to me
by Steve Baum, at Kurzweil tech support.
It is contained in the zip archive available on my DropBox folder at the
following link:

Extract the file rtfpagesplitter.ocx from the zip archive.
Close Kurzweil 1000 if it is open. Use windows Explorer and navigate
to the folder:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Common Files"
In that folder, find a file called rtfpagesplitter.ocx, and copy that
file to a safe place.
(I have created a folder called C:\temp for that purpose myself.)
Then, copy the new version of RTFPageSplitter.ocx which you extracted
from the zip archive to the folder containing
the original version of the page splitter, namely,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Common Files"
and, when prompted, choose "Copy and Replace."
Now, you can run Kurzweil 1000, and you should see improved Kurzweil
performance, regardless whether Window-Eyes is
running.

while Kurzweil runs, WindowEyes stays a sleep, it'I'm finding
