Hi Milissa:
I can't answer all of your questions but here are some:

2. I don't hear "top" or bottom" in Word or Outlook documents so I can't help
you there... On the Web I do. This is Window-Eyes's way of telling you you
have reached the respective extreme of the page. This cannot be turned off as
far as I know.
3. "Security report" is Window-Eyes telling you that you are on a secured page
in Internet Explorer. I don't believe this can be disabled. The other spoken
information can be tailored to your liking from within Verbosity/Browse
Mode/New Page Information (1 and 2) in the Control Panel.
4. Try using <ALT-l> for "Reply-To-All." This
is the built-in Outlook hotkey.
5. Yes. The CTRL-ALT-Arrow keys. Hold down the CTRL and ALT while you use
the right arrow key to choose the voice(s) whose rate(s) you wish to change;
Tap the left arrow key until you hear "rate;" Now use the up and down arrow
keys to adjust the speech rate(s.) Remember to hold down the CTRL and ALT for
all three processes.
6. There is a very easy way to do spell checking without using the <F7>
dialog: Start at the top of your document and use <ALT-'>(That's alt
apostrophe) to move to the first misspelling. You can use <ALT-;> (that's ALT
semi colon) to move to the previous misspelling. The advantage to this is, you
don't have to remember the hotkey for reading the word in context; Window-Eyes
places you right at the word in your document. To access the list of suggested
replacements, just press the context key. This is the key just to the right of
the right ALT key on a standard non-laptop keyboard.
If you want to spellcheck the word under the cursor, just press the context
key. If the word is not found in the dictionary suggested replacements will
appear at the top of the context menu.
7. In Control Panel/Screen/Punctuation, set Miscellaneous to "off." This
should silence the "apostrophe" unless your cursor lands directly on it.

  HTH.

Subject: several Window Eyes Questions

Hello All,

I am new to Window Eyes and have the following questions.

1. How do I turn off styles? For example, whenever I open a word document or a
new message in Outlook, Window Eyes tells me the style and layout of the page
or message. How do I turn this off?

2. At the top and bottom of Word documents, Outlook Messages, and web pages,
Window Eyes reads "top" and "bottom". Is there a way to turn this feature off?

3. When I go to a website, Window Eyes will read "security report" and proceed
to tell me how many links, headings ETC. there are on the page. Is there a way
to turn this off? I do not need such verbose descriptions when I visit a
website.

4. When I use control plus shift plus R in Outlook to reply to all, Window Eyes
will sometimes not open up a message to reply to all. I know that this is a
Window Eyes issue because when I use JAWS or System Access, I do not have this
problem. What could be the problem here as some times the reply all command
works and sometimes, it does not when using Window Eyes.

5. Is there a way to speed up or slow down speech on the fly?

6. When I do a spell check in Word or Outlook, how do I get Window Eyes to read
the word in question and it's suggestions? Currently, when I hit F7 to enter
spell check, Window Eyes does not read anything.

7. Is there a way to make Window Eyes read words differently? For example, the
word "it's" Window Eyes reads as "it apostrophe s" How do I get Window Eyes to
read "it's" as just "its"? I have the same problem with words like didn't,
shouldn't and wasn't. Is there a way to not have Window Eyes say "apostrophe"
in the middle of said word?

Thank you in advance for all your help.
