Hi Neville, Yes, I see Rod has been a big help to a lot of people here lately! One more thing which may help: I have written an app which helps you write Excel and Word VBA macros. It reads various parts of the VBA editor to you, but the most important part which it reads is the intelli-sense popup list when you are entering a macro command.
This popup list happens when you type in a command which contains a dot separating an object or variable name from a property or method name; it also happens when you are entering a VBA command which has a parameter which is one of a specific list of values. Without this popup list being read to you, you cannot enter such a command, you have to write your macros in notepad or something and paste them in. You may not be this advanced just yet, but you seem like someone who may get there, so I am suggesting you try the app of mine named "Office VBA and VBS Editor". It does other things involving helping people write VBScript apps using Word as the editor, but you can just ignore those functions, and use it just for the speaking of Intelli-sense popups. I use it for writing Excel scripts, Word scripts, and VBScript apps. Hth and good luck, Chip -----Original Message----- From: Neville [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2014 1:55 AM To: Rod Hutton; GW Micro Subject: Re: saving Excell 2003 macro You are an absolute genius Rod. I did a search for visual basic commands and came up with a lot of commands that didn't work. Didn't think of doing a search with the term you used. I have used this macro for years after many new installations of Windows and Office but just couldn't remember how I got it to work. Saving macros in Word is easy and are saved to the Normal.dot file but was unable to find the equivalent in Excel. Thanks muchly. Neville.
