you don't have to use the windows taskkill use the wineyes.exe /k command in a batch file.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GW Micro\Window-Eyes\wineyes.exe" /k then it will work accross all versions of windows. the taskkill is not the same with all windows versions. -----Original Message----- From: Rod Hutton Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2014 8:52 PM To: [email protected] ; gwmicro list Subject: Re: Window Eyes stops talking or more on point- WE8.4 crashes when another program runs- Puzzle-hmmm Hi Manny, You mean something like this, which, incidentally, could just go in a desktop shortcut: %windir%\system32\taskkill.exe /f /im wineyes.exe You know, it never even occurred to me to set up one, even though I have this one in a shortcut for Internet Explorer, for when the browser hangs: %windir%\system32\taskkill.exe /f /im iexplore.exe Thanks for the inspiration, Rod On 4/29/14 10:00 PM, manny wrote: Hi Rod, When WE8.4 crashes the control insert f4 does not function, and the only way to get WE8.4 back and running is with a batch file. .. -- Good luck, Manny If this helps, you can thank me by checking out my stand-up comedy performance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75fbevlz10g A THOUGHT FOR TODAY: The best portion of a good man's life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love. -William Wordsworth, poet (1770-1850) computer specifications: Window Eyes 8.4, Dell xps420 Windows 7 home premium, with dual boot to windows 8.1, which I don't recommend using! with 8 gb RAM, Intel q6600 quad core drivers and software updated software recommended: Firefox, Thunderbird, Win Patrol, Roboform, On 4/29/2014 2:07 PM, Rod Hutton wrote: Hi Manny, I don't know what shutout or fritz 12 are, but I don't know why you're killing WE with a batch file.
