Hi Rick,

As before, I’ve mentioned how much I like the training materials from Access
Technology Institute at blindtraining.com

You can get an e-book on using WE 8 with Windows 8.1, and I’d recommend it.

Hth,

Chip

Subject: Apps Screen

Hi: I am getting some major time delays everyplace in windows 8.1 starting this
morning.
I went to the apps screen and for a single instance I saw several tiles with
some being of the active nature sounding like news and shopping and hobby type
tiles.
I closed them, they were listed after something like live files but I thought
they were in my Start Screen.
They arent there. So I started trying to find them, could be causing my
problems.
But there are a mess of tiles or programs in my Apps Screen.
I cursored down but cant tell the folders from individual programs or apps.
How can I tell which ones are groups or folders so I can see if those nasty
files and tiles are inside any of them?
How do I expand a folder or group item to see what files are inside them?
This is the Apps window.
Sometimes response is so bad that this computer is almost useless, 10 to 30
seconds delay between navigating with tab or up or down arrow keys and
sometimes I hear “fContext Menu” or “Context Menu Closed” but not sure if that
I wE just reading some exteranious info or part of the problem.
To start I am trying to find those apps that are linking to the internet
without my permission and get rid of them but I havent found them yet.
