Hi: I tried to download 2 files from the internet. both were installer executables. When I click them I get a window but we reads nothing. If I tab I heard items 1 items selected of 7 and something similar for the other one but no selection list and no other controls. I only found that little bit after mousing around. WE did not read the necessary download bar on the Microsoft download site using alt+n – if that is the correct way to work with that bar so I had a sighted person perform the download. Also, when trying to setup my network sometimes things read ok, sometimes 2 or more items in the listview read as a single item and I have to use the mouse to select one of those 2 items. So far, a sighted person has had to help setup the network, a sighted person had to download the Visual Studio Express, I cant get it to install since that window doesn’t read at all and I even downloaded another screen reader to see if I couldn’t get Windows to work somewhat for these things but that download brings up that empty window when I click the installer. If something is set wrong there are no messages I can find about these executable files and I don’t see anything in the properties that indicate a problem. If there are some settings or steps I need to perform could you let me know? I will try and use Narrator to see if anything comes up but I am trying to learn to do things the WindowEyes way.
