I do not think that this is the case here. The book is still available for
sale, I checked with someone else who has the book and it is still in their
library and it is the fourth book in a series with five books out so far and
the sixth one coming out in a couple of weeks, not something that is likely to
randomly have the rights expire. The book is Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet by
Darynda Jones. I have had other books that Audible lost the rights to and they
still show up in my library as downloadable. I once thought that something like
this happened to me and Audible stated that they keep all past books on their
servers for those that purchased them and that their contracts allow this, they
are supposed to disappear from the store, but not the libraries of owners. I
would guess that in your case their was an error in which their archived copy
was not retrievable and the publisher no longer had access to the master, thus
causing them to be unable to restore the book to your library.
In the case where I thought this had happened to me, I unknowingly kept the
setting of my search to only show books that had been added in the last year
instead of for all time, and when I changed it, the book reappeared. despite
Audible’s assurances that I would continue to have access to books that went
out of print from my library, paranoia of what happened to you has led me to
keep my entire library archived on my hard drive. Unfortunately, when clearing
out older versions of books from before Audible started allowing all books to
be downloaded in one section instead of in parts, I accidentally deleted my
copy of this book and went to redownload it.
Perhaps you are right and I had the bad luck to encounter one of these flukes,
but since someone else can still download their copy, since it still shows up
on the store as purchaseable and since it is the next to newest title in a
current series, I don’t think this is the case.
This is the first accidental deletion I have had since starting to clear out
the divided books in my collection, I hope that it proves to be the only one
since, given my luck, I would again run into this problem.
Thanks,
Chris

Subject: RE: Audible Library issues with WE
Chris,
I have had this problem with audible before. When I called Audible they told
me the book had been discontinued. Sad part was I had bought it and had it in
mylibrary but had never read it. They remimbursed me one credit for the
selection since it was no longer available. From what you have described it
sounds like audible does not have the book any further. I know like me you
hate to get sighted help but I recommend getting sighted help and if they can
not find the book either then contact audible and ask for a credit to your
account. Hope this helps.

Subject: Audible Library issues with WE
Has anyone had any luck getting their Audible Library to work better with WE.
This is with Windows 7 64-bit and WE 8.4 using the latest IE 11. I’ve got a
large library, so finding a particular title can be a real pain considering
that the page often requires restoring to keep it working. I am trying to find
a particular book, and all of the other books I own by this particular author
appear when I search the author’s name, just not the one I am looking for. When
I try using the search function to locate it, I get the suggestion of the title
in the search my library box, but no matter how many times I hit enter, the
title doees not show up. I tried the latest firefox, but it still will not show
any titles at all either in the library or in a search. I just don’t get first
why the Audible site is so problematic with WE in the first place. I have been
told by NVDA users that it works well for them, but I almost always have issues
using the site with WE and second
why this title in particular is being so obstinate. It shows as in my library
if I search it out in the store, I know I own it, it just won’t show up so I
can download it.
I may have to get sigghted help again, this generally works, but I just
shouldn’t have to resort to that in order to use a major site like this. I
suspect the problem is mostly on the Audible side of things, they have said
that they are planning on improving accessibility for years, but have made no
progress that I’ve noticed over the last few years. I don’t know if there is
anything more that GW Micro can do or that somebody well versed in App creation
might be able to do, but it is something that perhaps might be worth exploring.
Thanks,
Chris
