Hello

Let me put my 2-cents in:

There are dedicated programs for particular kinds of writers, play writers,
poetry, and so on. But, for novels and textbooks, I believe that Microsoft
Word 2010 and 2013 are preferred by publishers. I am working on a math book,
and my editor only uses Word and all the publishers I have considered -
Springer Verlag, Princeton University Press, Cambridge University Press, etc.
demand that manuscripts be submitted to them in MS Word document format.

One of my favorite authors, Stephen King, uses Word on a Mac.

Good luck, Peter Duran

Thanks for this suggestion again. It sounds a lot like Treepad Lite, the two
pane part anyway, but it also sounds like it might have some features that
the free light version does not have. I will install it to compare.

I tried getting the free trial of Scrivener, but the installer seems to be
inaccessible which does not bode well for the application itself. I might go
ahead and get sighted assistance to find out if the application is more
accessible. I have gotten raves about the program from several Mac users who
love it and they are working on an iPad and iPhone version.

Regards,

Chris

Try "The Guide", a free 2 pane outline
