The latest. I check for browser updates daily so as to keep things as up to
date as possible. I’ve always had more crashes with IE, going back many, many
years, it has just that it has gotten noticeably worse of late and the odds of
a recovery from a lockup or crash have gone way down. I am very careful about
malware, I use multiple applications to scan for malware that might have gotten
through as well as keeping things shielded with MS Security Essentials. I keep
Windows, that would be Windows 7 64-bit, current and keep all of the major
applications updated either via Microsoft’s update page, Ninite, or a given
application’s own updater. I do tend to run multiple instances of whichever
web browser I am currently using. I tend to multitask and my system has plenty
of resources. I generally only use IE for things that don’t work well on
Firefox, like browsing Audible, but that still addss up to a lot. I’ve found
that both Firefox and IE have t
heir own long list of pages and functions that work better on one browser than
on the other, so I just use the one that best fits whatever I am trying to do.

I am limited in some respects on potential solutions. I am using a family
member’s computer, so things like clearing out all cookies are just not doable.
It isn’t my system to make changes like that on, particularly since the owner
of the computer solely use Internet Explorer and thus has a bunch of auto login
info and other such content in IE.

Thanks,

chris

Hello,

Thank you for writing. What version of IE are you running?

Thank you.

Subject: Lots of crashes lately

I have had a lot more crashes lately. Often, on the rare occasions I get Window
Eyes talking again instead of having to restart the computer, I have one of
several windows open that I did not intentionally open. the first is titled
West Beach 16. The second is titled Kill Wineyes and has a bunch of information
that makes no sense to me in it. this one must be connected to the fact that I
still often use the Kill Window Eyes app with the shortcut combination of
control + alt + F4. This one will work more often than my kill wineyes batch
file, so I tend to still use it. The third one is a window letting me know that
Internet Explorer has stopped responding and asking me if I want to close the
application. Which I always do since Window Eyes will not speak properly until
the instance of Internet Explorer in question is closed.

I think that most of the crashes are connected to Internet Explorer. They can
happen when I am using Accessible RSS Reader, Firefox, Windows Live Mail, or
about any other application, but even in these cases, there is generally at
least one instance of Internet Explorer up and running in the background.

The regularity of these lockups and crashes is getting more and more annoying.
I can’t seem to find anything specific wrong, so I have no idea what might be a
workable solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

chris
