I don't know how things stand now, but I used VLC for DVDs for a long time.
The problem is that it has been some time and I did not stop because it
stopped working, but rather because I pretty much stopped using my PC to
play DVDs, so if it stopped working at some point, I do not know when. But
the period when I was using it was definitely pre WE 8.
Regards,
chris

Maybe I am lost in my memory here, but if the VLC uses QT, then I wonder
if the QT support of WE first was introduced in WE8. Prior to that, I
think you needed an extra app from app central. Seems like initial user
of this thread, was trying to set things up under WE7.5.
For the playback of DVDs, I personally have been using the CCCP player,
that you find on Ninite.com. It works pretty well here. Sorry, but I
have never tried VLC, so cannot be of further help, just wanted to step
in with some thoughts, in case it would help.

I thought vlc works with WindowEyes -- it uses qt, but there is qt

Hi Lou N,
If this was me I am sorry. Window Eyes does not see the options for VLC
at all by the keyboard . Window Eyes sees the options of VLC as a
graphic. You can move across the graphic with the mouse but the only
information that Window Eyes will say is graphic. I think your only
option to use is iTunes, apple.com/iTunes. Give this a go and please
report back if iTunes works for you.
Thank you.

Hi, folks.
Per the recommendation of a fellow user, I'm trying VLC player to play
DVD movies. Problem is, I am unable to access the preferences property
page or the help dialog using WE 7.4.3.1 and I was curious if anyone
using WE 8x is any better off.
