Hey, Rich.

Follow your steps, but instead of trying to put the entry into the
exceptions dictionary, use the character dictionary instead.

Subject: Identifying M-Dash and N-Dash in Word 2010

I have attempted unsuccessfully to create a definition in the exception
dictionary for the m-dash and n-dash characters. I've tried two approaches:
1) routing the cursor to the character and then pressing Ctrl-Shft-E and
moving to the exception dictionary and 2) pasting the particular character
into the "Original" field and typing in a description into the "Replacement"
field. Neither pronounce the replacement when the character is encountered.

Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance.
