Hi Brendon, Thanks for the tip regarding removing Skype from the Alt-Tab order. However, I can get Skype to exit every single time if I open any contact chat window, and then press Escape twice, as long as the second Escape is press on the Skype main window. And, it doesn't matter how many chat windows are open. This is a bug for sure.

Regarding Skype crashing when opening, I have found that closing Skype down once and then reopening the application again, works. Rod, I am getting the message bug where pressing escape from a message window closes Skype down completely, this bug has been around for a while and needs to be fixed by the Skype development team. Thank you. Brendon Donohue. -----Original Message----- From: Rod hutton [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, October 06, 2014 4:33 AM To: [email protected]; 'Richard G Applegate'; 'Tom Kingston' Cc: 'GW-Info' Subject: RE: Skype bug Hi Sam, Yes, it's been a while now since I've had a version of Skype which could be minimized to the system tray only, that is, Skype is always in the Alt-Tab order of open applications, at least for me, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. But, most important I have no way to minimize the app to the systray reliably. I can do this repeatedly after the double-Escape closes Skype and then I reopen it. Clearly, this is a bug which the Skype developers need to address. Even closing the Skype.exe from the task manager does no good. The only work-around I have found is shutting down and restarting the computer. I have Skype loading at Windows start if it makes a difference. -----Original Message----- From: Rod hutton [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, October 05, 2014 10:30 AM To: 'Tom Kingston' Cc: 'GW-Info' Subject: RE: Skype bug Hi Tom, Did you open a contact, press Escape to close it, and then immediately press Escape again? This is the sequence which kills Skype for me. Also, the Close option on the Skype menu doesn't do anything on my system. I'm running the current version of Skype. You can minimize it to the SysTray with Alt-S Skype, L Close. Then use the Window-Eyes Insert-S key combination to open the SysTray view, select Skype, Alt-R to right click, and the context menu will give you the options to actually close the program, open the window again, and so on.
