Greetings everyone.

In anticipation for the soon to be released version nine.

I have taken possession, for trial purposes, of the Alva 640 Comfort braille
display.

I am hopeful that AI Squared and Optelec will improve the Window-Eyes interface.

Direct braille input seems problematic. For example: space-U is often used to
toggle between upper and lower case. Window-eyes often says num lock (on or
off) as a toggle.

When attempting to define hot keys, there are instances where Window-"eyes says
"that is not a braille key" when trying to capture a key.

Also with hot keys: there is reference to the smart pad - which is an Alva
legacy from previous models.

I acknowledge that AI Squared relies on manufacturers to update their
information and driver software, but I hope that such updating is occurring.

I have the braille device set as Optelec Alva bc640 (new v3.10) and my guess is
that it is probably correct.

I'd still appreciate other peoples' experiences with this display.

Vaughan.
