My guess is that you are right.

AI should perhaps withdraw the Focus line from future versions of Window-Eyes.
Then we will avoid the ambiguity which currently exists.

I hope that the relationship between HIMS and AI Squared remains as what seems
to be a good one - the Edge is a fine product. It works well with Window-eyes.
The incorrect labeling of hot keys is easily fixed by HIMS.

I don't know if this is still the case, although I wouldn't be surprised if it
was, but Steve also said that Freedom Scientific was not allowing Ai Squared to
make the Focus fully supportive with Window-Eyes. I think they are probably
doing an Apple on us, by saying that if you want to use our display, you will
have to use our screen reader as well.

Used to use a Handy Tec Braille Star, but I can't use it because it slows down
my netbook considerably, but it did work well, as long as the drivers from
Handy Tec were installed. Hope this helps.

Greetings!

Since you mentioned about iOS and the Focus, please see the following Freedom
Scientific archived Webinar called: "Using Your iDevice with the Focus Braille
Displays" :
http://freedomscientific.com/Services/TrainingAndCertification/WebinarDetail/F0055

As for Window-Eyes and the braille Focus display itself, I remember Steven
Clower saying something bout the boys in Florida gave a driver to the boys in
Indiana, though its not an up to date one. Thus, the boys in Florida, aren't
playing nice with the boys in Indiana. And with that, hopefully Freedom will
have the right mind set, someday...
