Hello Andy,
Luckily I can run whatever I wish on my work computers.
Personally I use GData total security and it is very accessible and
effective. I actually learned about it because one of our consumers
mailed us with a question on it and I gave it a shot to try and figure
out their issue.

It is sad that you feel the need to remove it. Many work sites, such
as mine use it, and you may find yourself in situations where you do
not have a choice in the matter.

Hi,
Using Window-eyes 9 beta, I was successfully able to remove McAfee
from Windows 8 on an Acer all-in-one.
Window-eyes saw it as a web page and I was able to check the items I
wanted to remove and hit the remove button.
Note: using Window-eyes 8.4 I was not able to remove McAfee from the
system.

Hi list:
Got a new laptop with Windows 8.1.
Dell likes to put the ubitiquous McAfee programs on it.
Now, McAfee seems pretty hard to remove, without sighted assistance.
For the most part, the uninstall procedure wasn’t accessible with
Window-Eyes.
I had to install the demo of the Shark to use the Convenient OCR
feature to get around the dialogs enough to remove the McAfee software.
Anyone know of a faster, easier way to accomplish this?
It’s gone from this configuration, but, this has got to be a valid
question for anyone buying a new Dell system.
Thanks!
