I cannot hear text as I select it with the arrow and shift-arrow keys while in the body of a message. They do work in the Subject and other fields. I must remind everyone that these do work in WE 8.4. It is quite disappointing these issues have not been fixed. I agree that a number of things are snappier with WE 9.0,some functions have been downgraded from WE 8.4. I am using Windows 7 64-bit pro.
