I have the same silent backspace and silent arrow keys when
inputting information into Edit Boxes problem using 8.4 when I need
to fill out information on websites. I am talking about data, not
passwords. Admittedly, I am using IE 8. Sometimes I can read the Edit
Box information if I maximize the page. Is there perhaps a way
Window-eyes can automatically maximize a page and increase the
likelihood of being able to read information I have input into Edit
Boxes and wish to correct? I know there is an app which maximizes
things. I have it. By the way, if I Tab away from the Edit Box and
back to it, sometimes it makes the information readable.
None of this behavior happens using NVDA. I only mention NVDA in case
you can find something of value in how they implement their screen
reader for those of us browsing the web.

Interesting! How would I know then that I am deleting a character
in a password field? The ding, ding, ding DOES NOT help me! What
will help me is if I here something like: "Star deleted, Asterisk
deleted, F deleted and such." A ding, ding, ding and continuous
ding is information that's not very useful. I don't have this
problem using a demo of Jaws, and, no, I'm not switching my primary
screen reader to Jaws anytime soon!

Olusegun
