Another way the text selection does not currently work correctly, in my opinion, is there seems no way to do a paste special command. Usually without a screen reader I believe you can use this command to choose whether you want to keep the original formatting or use the destination formatting. Perhaps something like pressing Enter for original formatting, spacebar to use the copied text formatting?

In earlier versions of Window-Eyes, prior to version 9, you could use the same keyboard commands to select text in Browse Mode as you could in applications that have a text cursor such as Notepad, Microsoft Word, etc. As many of you know, these text selection keyboard commands are not currently available in Window-Eyes 9. I am referring to commands such as Shift-Left/Right Arrow, Shift-Up/Down Arrow, Control-Shift-Left/Right Arrow to select by character, line and word. I want to clarifying that these commands are not built into web browsers like they are in Notepad and Microsoft Word. In order for these commands to work in Browse Mode, the Ai Squared developers have to create special programming to support this functionality. And, this feature request is certainly on our to do list. While I am not a Window-Eyes developer, I have spoken to those who are very knowledgeable about the inner workings of the product. My understanding is that the Shift selection commands would use much of the same code used to implement the F8 text selection method. In other words, the F8 text selection code is really the foundation that underlies all of the other work that would need to be done to implement the Shift based text selection. So, in order to get there, we first need to make sure that the F8 text selection method is as reliable as possible. I have encountered situations where the F8 text selection method, that is currently available in the Window-Eyes 9 Browse Mode, fails to produce the expected results. No software is perfect, and Window-Eyes, just like all other software applications has bugs that need to be fixed. We need your help identifying these problems so we can work on fixing them. If you are able to consistently duplicate an issue relating to F8 text selection, please share your findings with us so we can work on fixing the problem. Here is the information we would need you to provide when reporting a problem to the GW-Info list or directly to our support team: 1. Testing environment: operating system, web browser and versions, Window-Eyes version, speech synthesizer being used 2. Exact steps to duplicate the problem 3. Expected results 4.
