Maybe you could set WLM so it doesn't check for messages automatically.
It makes sense to me that when the email client downloads messages and
gives the message that it has done so may take focus away from the task
you were in. I've always been annoyed when email programs check
automatically and take focus so I check mail manually. To me this is
not the fault of screen readers. They follow the OS when something else
takes focus.

Yes, it's happened to me too. It's as if Window-eyes goes silent when
visiting certain webpages, Facebook's regular site being a prime
example. For me, other times when I visit a web page, Window-eyes
actually just shuts down without any kind of error message, I don't know
if you could call that a memory leak or what the propper term for it is,
but it does happen especially since the final version of Window-eyes 9
came out. I didn't bring this up til now, only because I wasn't sure if
it was something on my particular pc causing the problem, or if it's
Window-eyes itself at fault. Sometimes IE will even crash, whereas with
other screenreaders, it seems to be ok. So, something definitely seems
to be happening and I see what you mean now.

I haven't really noticed any real focus issues, can you give an
example of what happens, so we can try to duplicate it and see what
happens on our machines too? That might help solve the problem if
there's a simple setting that needs to be changed, it can be like that
for sure at times.
