Steve, doesn't Microsoft now say that Windows Defender does the job in 8.1?

Ray,

MSE is still being supported for Windows Vista and Windows 7, but you
are right that it is no longer being maintained for Windows XP.

Steve

Hello:

I didn't think Microsoft Security Essentials was being supported anymore. I
use Vipre and find it very accessible with Window-Eyes.

Hello Amy,

If you have a 64-bit machine, use
http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/3/8/A38FFBF2-1122-48B4-AF60-E44F6DC
28BD8/ENUS/amd64/MSEInstall.exe.
If you have a 32-bit computer, download and install
http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/3/8/A38FFBF2-1122-48B4-AF60-E44F6DC
28BD8/ENUS/x86/MSEInstall.exe.

Note that if you are using Windows 8 or 8.1, it comes with Windows
Defender, which is essentially MSE with a different name.

Regards,
Steve

I've heard Microsoft security essentials is the best antivirus to work
with window eyes. Where do you download it? Tried getting if off
microsoft.com and didn't have success. There is so many ads in the
download process wanting you to download other products. Thanks.
