Go to the program list in the start by pressing control tab.  Find the program 
you want on the desktop and press the application key.  Arrow down to go to 
file location and press enter.  That will take you into the folder containing 
the program executable.  Highlight that executable and press the application 
key and use the send to item and send to desktop.

Can someone tell me how to put a shortcut on the desktop in windows 8.1. I done 
it once when I first got this new pc but can’t remember how. I guess I’ve got 
“CRS”.
