Don,
Just as a reminder, Window-Eyes 9.0 now handles dynamic web pages. Prior
to version 9 Window-Eyes would take a static snapshot of the web page
and bring it into an internal buffer and we knew everything about it,
including where the headers are, etc. So it makes sense there would be
a speed difference for us to find a pre defined header that we already
know about vs. going though the web page dynamically with each press of
H to find the next one in the current state of the web page. But I'm
also assuming that although it may be slightly slower it is still very
usable and in fact now much more accurate than 8.4. Bottom line, in
handling dynamic content we have to be, well, dynamic. Unfortunately we
can't have the preprocessing used in 8.4 and the wonderful and powerful
dynamic content abilities in 9.0 all in one version.

I thought I would try a little experiment by uninstalling WE 9 and
going back to WE 8.4 on my Win 8.1 laptop.
I have found in doing so that about half my focus issues have gone
away and when working with the Web using IE 11 that WE 8.4 is more
responsive. One example of this is if you go to a web page that has
headers for a list of items moving through the list by hitting the h
header function moves much faster between the headers. With WE 9
there is a lag between pressing the h key and it speaking the next
header.
Also the loss of speech when reviewing a web page is happening much less.
