Hi. If your isp allows ssl connections on port 587 this should work.
However if the isp only allows tls connections on port 587 then there
will be problems and there is nothing which can be done for now other
than using another smtp server. Some people in this situation have
purchased a commercial smtp service which can cost around $20 per year.

The most common problem with problems sending from the Sense notetakers
is that the isp is forcing tls or is forcing another smtp port. If the
isp you use allows connections on port 25 or ssl connections on port 465
then it just works. If however tls is forced such as in port 587 then
there might be problems. Also, when entering Email information, make
sure you use computer Braille. Make sure that you fill in a username and
password under the advanced options of the service manager because some
isps require smtp authentication.
So this works, but it sometimes takes a little tweaking.
The service you describe is good for situations like where an isp is not
accessible from other places or if you want to have minimal fuss when
trying to send out Email so this is a good solution.
