Hi Donna, First of all, let me say that I find the daisy player in the sense notetakers overly complicated and rather difficult to use, so I personally just avoid daisy books. Also, my primary source for daisy books is bookshare so there's no imbedded audio content.
For pleasure reading I much prefer the .brf format as there's no real need to skip from one chapter to another and most players will maintain your place in the book should you stop reading. I think daisy is more useful for reference books or textbooks where you're primarily interested in looking up specific information. Some of the computer books on bookshare would fall into this category. Also, daisy can be useful when you want to look through the sections or articles within a section of a newspaper or magazine and choose what you skip or want to read. But, there are other ways of reading such newspapers too, and daisy isn't the only one. Except for some newspapers, I haven't downloaded a daisy book from bookshare or anywhere else in months now. Again, it probably gets down to personal preference. I hope this answers your questions.
