I don't think it damaged my unit. Like you, my VS is an appendage off my body. I do use it constantly and let my battery drain to 15%. I was told that GW has seen a few batteries go bad like mine but that it is unusual. Steve

I asked one of our local computer guys to find me an alternate battery when I got this unit, mainly because, I wear thebs like most people wear a watch lol. I use it for all my book reading as well as for taking notes when I'm out in public and all the other things we can do with it. I usually take the battery down to 20 or 15 percent almost daily which is why I plug it in at night. I'm glad to say I'm not getting speaker noise, but I'll take it to visit my tech guy today and see if he's tracked down the new battery and just have him look over the old one just for luck.
