It works for txt files too, only problem for me was that I have my settings set to make all documents that way and I forgot I had turned compression on, couldn't figure out why I couldn't get a blank line LOL. Anyway turning it on and off is no big issue to me. I do like the braille notes having a word processor and a book reader in one device, documents you don't want edited can be loaded into the book reader and read without worrying about accidently adding extra key strokes.
