One other thing. Did you put all your files in the root folder? I'm very vague on this, but seems to me I recall somewhere that you can run into problems if you put too many files into the root folder. Putting them into folder groups can help. Just a thought.

Hi Mary,

Fat32 is fine. Did you try a reset with the button on the back to see if
that helped?

Hello to all out there. I have a compact flash card that originally had
sense nav map and key file on it. That was the old version that I don't
need, so I deleted all the files. I put new files on there, word
documents that I wanted to access using my vs, but when I go to the cf
card in the file manager, it doesn't see the files; it says no list
item. And when I do an enter o to open I get the message "deactivated".
Obviously this card was readable by the vs at one point, because it
read all the map etc files. And I delted all those files using the vs,
so at that point, it saw the card. Now, however no dice. I reformatted
the card in my pc, which only gave me fat32 as a file system choice. I
have a feeling the vs doesn't read fat32, but don't know for sure. I
only did that reformat after the vs didn't recognize the files I copied
onto it with its original file allocation table, whatever that was. Is
this card useless now?
