Well, grin, guess you learn something everyday, as I didn't know you could send
an email this way. For, guess I've always just found it easier to launch
emails from the email program itself.

But, to answer your question, try this: hit F 1 and then the letter A to bring
up the address manager; then type in the last name and press enter as you were
doing; then your likely fastest way to accomplish getting to the email address
field is to press dots 4 6 with space to go to the bottom of the fields list;
if you then land on the desired email address you can just press enter to
launch the email program; or if you're not on the desired email address you can
press space with dot 2 to go backwards through the fields to get to it before
pressing enter.

Now, as to searching by the first name, once you open the address manager and
hear the last name prompt, hit space with dot 4 to get you to the first name
field where you can type in the first name for which you want to search and
press enter. Or, for that matter, you can press space with dots 4 5 6 to get
to the end of the fields in which to search, and then press space with dot 1 to
go back to the desired email field and perform your search using that field.
Note also that, when doing your search, you don't have to type in the full name
or email address, as the program will search using a partial name or address.
