Hi Jannelle,

As for Word hard returns, you do know that these are also called paragraph
marks, and that you can turn on the display of paragraph marks in Word, and
you can turn on all punctuation so that window eyes will say the paragraph
marks? This seems like something you would know, so please correct me if
you meant something else?

Also, the same is true about line break characters made with shift-enter.

As for outlook 2007 and additional email/ip information: I will keep your
comments until I get my office 2007 setup, so that I can better see what you
mean. I think this must be an option not in 2003, because all that I'm
aware of in 2003 is the ability to see the entire set of message headers.
Whatever the exact option is, it sounds like you'd like a hotkey for
speeding up the process, and that would seem quite doable.

thanks again,

Chip

The script is great as is. My feature request would be the option to hear
single hard returns verbalized. It would be fine with me to hear them
unconditionally but perhaps that is not what you want. There are times when,
in the process of editing a doc, it is important for me to make sure that a
stray hard return has not disguised itself as a soft return. I am able to
locate them but this feature would simplify and quicken the process. Just a
thought <smile>.

I love Outlook 2007. You may find ways to improve it that have not occurred
to me when you write your Outlook script. One thing bugs me in Outlook
though. When I receive a message, and suspect the source to be untrustworthy
or forged, the process for obtaining all of the pertinent info, including
the IP address, is rather cumbersome I think. Even if one still needed to go
to a web site to verify the IP address, perhaps the relevant info could be
displayed for the highlighted message. Sometimes the email address is enough
once it is obtained, and the IP does not need to be verified.

Take care and thanks for sharing your scripts.

Thanks very much Janelle for the confirmation.

If you have any requests, or are just having any difficulties in Office,
please let me know; it helps me set priorities as to what to do next.

Garry,

window eyes has a feature for Word where it will speak additional formatting
information as you move around. it's called the "format alert", and it's in
the manual, in the section on working with Word, one of the chapters at the
end whose name is something like "additional commands".

the particular keystroke to turn it on is control-alt-shift F. if you then
saved your set file it would stay on for you by default.

thanks for reminding me not everyone knows what format alert is; I'll add it
to the script help.

Chip

Hello I would like to know how I can turn on the format thing that you are
talking about in ms word. I would truly appreciate it if you could answer
that for me. So far I like the script and it works really well in word 2007.
If I think of anything that needs to be added in the script I will let you
know.

if you have the format alert enabled in Word, as you arrow through the
document it alerts you to changes in advanced paragraph formatting such as
line spacing, keep with next and keep together settings, etc., and the
outline level. this way you can go through the document quickly, without
having to go into the paragraph format dialog to check these settings for
each paragraph.

Secondarily, it enables the display of comments if the document contains
comments.

these were both requested on the GW info list; so let me know if you have
other feature requests.
