Rick, This accessibility tool for Java may very well be of assistance to your friend. It is designed to work with Java applications in general if the GUI is written with Java's own API called swing. WE4Java requires Java 1.5 (sometimes referred to as version 5.0) or higher but this usually isn't an issue as 1.5 has been around for a long time now.
I have seen a number of intro java classes that quickly moved past console style applications and got into GUI driven classes using swing. The new release of WE4Java may be of particular interest to your friend as the Navigation Screen tells the size and location of each object making it somewhat easier to understand if you are putting things where they need to go on the screen. I purposely left such decorator components as fillers and separators in the navigation tree so you get a better mental image of what the screen looks like. It doesn't mean anything functionally to know that there is a separator line on a menu list between the new, open, and save items and the print and exit items but it helps you get a better picture of what the menu looks like. When does your friend's java class start? Is this script relevant to what he will need to do? I never have even looked at JAVA so am clueless but this script has something to do with JAVA so I thought I'd ask if it might help him. Does it work with any particular programming environment or IDE? Or, is it for something else related to JAVA? Rick USA
