Jeff, and the rest.
One way of checking details about your music files, would be in Windows
Explorer. At least under XP. Under the View menu, have it set to display
details, and then (under the same menu) go ahead and choose which details to be
displayed. There is quite a number of details that can be chosen from, and some
of them has to do with the recording quality of sound files. Once set up, the
details might show up in the status bar of the explorer window.
Again, another way would be to download the demo version of the media player
called MaPlEr, found at
http://mar-dy.com/
Load the sound file into the player, press TAB once, and scroll down through
the status field. You will find entries giving you the frequency and bitrate
that the sound file is running at. All in a fully accessible environment. Just
for a suggestion.

hello, the program that was used to record the wave files should be set to
a specific setting either 44.1 or 48. for recording quality. i'm not sure what
program your using but if its a audio program it might be listed under file
properties.
thanks les

hi, are the wav files in 44.1 or 48. theres a few different wave file
types. the more standard is 44.1 but 48 is used alot too. could this be a issue
causing ones not to play?

Subject: .wav files that won't play
Steve and others,
I have found some .wav files that won't play using the
GWAudioKit, but that will play with playSound.
Two files in question are:
ChipmunkSong.wav
ChristmasSongNat.wav
which I downloaded.
Any thoughts on what could cause this?
thanks,
Jeff Weiss
