Thanks Chip: That is actually one method I have considered as a "Best Practice"
thingy.
I thought of having a EditBox where they could enter ffolder and file paths to
backup, getting the backup folders and files from some text file where I would
just add the folder and file paths but...
The best method seemed to be navigating around and clicking on folders and
files to add to a file like a CE DB or XML file or even just a text file to
load into an Array, Table or Dictionary for processing.
I used the help system from WETranslator and the Globalization method as well
when I set up the new project but trimmed the Globalization down by removing
anything that would require a user to view or modify anything to do with the
xml files. There really isn't any reason for them to edit the single word, or
very few word, literals used as the text in menu items or simple user messages.
I left the Help Documents as text files since that is the most likely thing a
user may want to edit or add to with notes of their own.
I am now reading up on how to get and set various system, user and hardware
related information perhaps using WMI - or whatever the current methodology is.
I have 2 other projects in the works as well. One is a DailyPlanner - I don't
like working with calandersusing a screen reader like WE. The other is a
Banking App where I can download banking and Brokerage Transactions, see paied
bills, what bills are coming up and get information about the company and
contact people etc... with the click of a button, generate various reports for
my own information and tax time and whatever else I can think of.
That App is working but I need to add a good help system and the globalization
code before it is anything I might think of releasing some day.
That's it except that I am starting to do a little reading about Artificial
Intelligence to see how far it has come. My Son-In-Law is thinking of going
into that field and I want to be able to talk to him from time to time so need
an understanding of the grammer of that technology.
Also, it might prove interesting as a tool for a feature in my Investment
Platform when picking stocks.
Well, off to the day's activities. I hope you and your family had a good holidy
and a good one coming up on the First.
Later and thanks for all the things you have done for the community.
