Window-Eyes 8.0: New Features Webinar Recording Now Available for Download!Dear
Bruce,

I’ve been reviewing the download pages for Visual Studio 2012, and I can’t
figure out which link to choose to get the free version, that is, “Express.”

Can you send me the link you chose, and what exactly this will give me?

Thanks,

Rod

Hi Rod,

I did download that stuff, the Express version. As I posted on the apps
line, the Express comes up with some kind of welcome tab page that has no
menus, just a system exit. Can not get out of it. I have a link for the command
line and have not tried it out.
I do not know why this page has come up, for I can not even get to a
project. When I manage to and want to start a new project, it wants the name
and searches for it. But, I have no project, so how can it search, and why if
it is new???

Someone like Aaron, Doug, or Steve or someone at GW must know about these
issues and any ideas would be helpful...
        Bruce

  Dear Bruce,

Your last 2 messages to the list ended up in my junk mail folder, so I almost
missed them, which is why I took a bit of time to reply.

I had been searching for such an IDE a while ago, and, at that time, I had
found free IDEs made by Microsoft, but I have not tested them. However,
because it is Microsoft, you could always whine and complain to them and they
might help you out in the future if they are not accessible. Here’s the URL to
their suite of free IDEs:

  http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/downloads#d-2012-express

The “Express” versions of Visual Studio 2012 are free.

  Take care, my good man,

  Rod :)
