Window-Eyes 8.0: New Features Webinar Recording Now Available for Download!Hi
Chip,

Yes, exactly, that is when it crashes. But, I have been getting keyboard
errors still and error reports sent the GW Micro. They all still could be
related.
The only other thing in place is the Avast anti virus program that can take
control of the window if running, but that is usually on power-up or twice a
day, not when the crashes happen.

Also, more than one sound seems to happen but using the Visual Basic 2010
IDE and it happens more often.
While using that IDE I had to shut off the intellesense for it would crash
all the time, but there is an update that happens when you set a time for it to
do it and it is a recovery option. Now, that could be doing it. When the update
comes, and coincides with the others, it dies! Just a guess on that. Or it
could just be the recovery log that is doing it.

But still there have been key timing issues still on going that cases a
crash and an error report sent.

So, will just have to endure it for now.

Has anyone played with the Visual Basic 2010 IDE?
        Sincerely
        Bruce

I too Bruce can’t make anything crash because of keyboard use; however, I
have seen a much higher than normal number of crashes which happen just as WE
is playing some sound (I have several programs which play sounds either at
regularly timed intervals such as the clock type programs, or when something
happens (usually my own apps are playing these sounds)). In any case, I had
wondered if the crash could be being caused by two apps playing sounds through
WE at the same time?

There is something going on as you’ve noticed, but as Rod points out, it’s
been impossible so far to reliably reproduce it.

  Hi Bruce,

I just executed the following command in the immediate mode app window:

  PlaySound("C:\test.wav")

and I played around with the keyboard while the file was playing, both on my
USB keyboard, as well as on my bluetooth one, and no problems.

I dunno. Maybe the wav files you are using have minor errors in them. I’ve
run into this problem before.

  Take care,

  Rod

Subject: PlaySound Crash When Hitting Key

  Hi!

I discovered one thing about the Playsound command in the object model
and when entering something on the keyboard the same time the sound being
played by playsound at the same time almost always locks up the keybaord, thus
forcing a reboot...

Has anyone else had the same problem? I have running in the background my
Cuckoo Clock program that rings or plays a sound and voice every 15 minutes...

so, is there timing issues with the keyboard coming in to play?

          Sincerely

          Bruce
