Hi Jonathan,

Well, there is the GW wiki, which largely is comprised of articles related
to script programming and other types of GW-related programming. It can be
found at:

http://gwmicro.com/wiki

On the internet are many VBScript programming tutorials, and I can help you
with some e-books if you want to program using VBScript. These aren't
specific to Window-Eyes, just helpful in learning this particular
programming language.

And finally, there are many apps (or scripts) written with the source code
made public and for the primary purpose of demonstrating how to program
something specific in Window-Eyes. These tend to be on the beginner to
intermediate level.

Unfortunately, GW Micro (who is the author of scripts on the advanced level)
seems to no longer be making any of the apps they write open (unencrypted).
This is a policy I disagree with, and which I believe is very short-sighted
on their part, considering as your question is making obvious, how little
learning material is available for potential Window-Eyes scripting authors.
Perhaps you may agree and will wish to write to them about this.

Hth,

Chip

Subject: Introduction and looking for additional resources

I am new to the WIndow Eyes scripting community and was wondering if there
are resources above and beyond what is on the gwmicro.com web site. I'll be
helping a an organization that uses both WIndow EYes and Jaws improve the
accessibility of several legacy application and I have a good idea about how
to approach this for jaws, but have only found Chip's class recordings.
What other tools are there both for reference and learning within the
community?

THanks,

Best wishes,

Jonathan
