Stream doesn't update until first notification finishes displaying

Bug description:
Gwibber doesn't update the stream with new messages until the first
new message finishes displaying as a notification. Edit > Preferences
> Options > "Only display notifications for mentions" is unchecked.
Two effects:
* If first new message contains link user wants to follow, user must wait
unnecessarily for notification to finish before link can be opened.
* If user manually refreshes, user must wait unnecessarily to see new
messages.
