scrolling causes items to flicker and makes you lose track of where
you are

Bug description:
When I scroll down with the scroll wheel by one position, it
momentarily shows the first item in my list, and then probably scrolls
to the new position it should be at quickly. This is not smooth and
very disorienting - effectively making it impossible to scroll down
page by page.
