We use GWT-Ext in an enterprise Ap - it works very well, however It is
important that you force the user's page to refresh as often as you can
without hurting the user experience, otherwise the memory consumption
gets too high over time, so you need to be clever... All of the js and
styles are loaded up front and cached, so load times are minimal. User
acceptance has been very good, and functionally we are lightyears ahead
of our competitors.

Hi There:

There is a few things to keep in mind
1) you are using an ajax app, which means that yes you ll ahve a big
chunk of js to download up front
however you are likely to expericne a very rich interaction from then
on.
2) I actually havent checked lately but are you using the minified
version for prodution?

my 2 cents

Hi ..

I am a newbie to GWT world and just looked at the GWT-Ext project and
it really seems very good. I have a question more from feasibility
point of view . Whether applications developed using GWT-Ext and GWT
could be deployed and accessed over the internet ? Are there any
performance issues with this ?

This question actually struck me when i download the EXT 2.0.2 .zip
which needs to be available in the Web Archive and was shocked to find
it around 21 MB+. Could anyone please clarify whether all javascript
would get downloaded on the system or is it that only the required
javascripts are downloaded ?

The application to be built would have forms ,grids and charting.
Would appreciate if anyone could clarify usage of GWT-Ext for this it
would be very helpful.

Thank you !
