Hello, thanks for reporting the problem; I have already got it reported for Win7, unfortunately, it is almost surely not due to a bug directly in Gwyddion (the problem may be in Gtk+) and we cannot reproduce the crash in Wine or WinXP either. So the cause is probably related to some GDI+ changes in the newer MS Windows versions. Which means we are stuck. But seeing that multiple people have encountered this we can proceed as follows: I will add/enable some debugging messages in the nightly builds of Gwyddion. You – which means whoever can reproduce the crash and wants it get fixed – will install the nightly build, try to open a TIFF image in it (apparently, any TIFF will do), see it crash and post gwyddion.log. Several iterations of this will be likely required to get somewhere. Can you help fixing it? Does anyone else observe it?
