Gyros, (Did everyone turn those clocks ahead?)

What a great way to start the cycling season! Even though we had a couple of
mechanicals, and a coach (John?) who was a bit nervous about making the start
of his soccer game everyone stayed together and shared the work.

I think that I can speak for other riders when I say that riding near 4 hours
was a concern since many of us have only been getting in 45 min rides on the
trainer (although Jim had mentioned something about doing 3 hours on his
trainer!).

But, the group dynamics were great and it was a really nice, controlled ride.
Tony laid out a great course, the weather could not have been better, and it
was simply a good day on the bike.

It was great to see Fernando again, who came to the front on Leesville to help
as we were trying to catch the front group (who, at that point were just to far
up the road). I thought that I would give it one more try and took the lead up
that final climb. Suddenly, Tony, Fernando, and just about everyone else went
by me and I was done. Gassed. Don rode at my slowing pace and offered some
sympathetic words...thanks, Don!

Anyway, great riding by Logan, Steve, and, I am not sure who else was in that
lead group. I few more rides like this, and a few less pounds and our A group
will be back in form!
