I just got home from a wonderful experience at the Downtown Wake Forest Criterium and would like to take the opportunity to thank the Raleigh All-Star Cycling Team, the sponsors, and what seemed like a cast of a 1000 volunteers. This event was extremely well organized, the course in Wake Forest was awesome, and then venue in downtown was ideal. I only wish the weather had been so ideal. And those volunteers! It speaks volumes about the All-Star Cycling Team, the sponsors, and the cyclists in that area to have so many volunteers brave the cold, rainy, and at times hurricane like weather. Not only did they endure the miserable weather, they did so with cheerful enthusiasm and dedication. Although I live relatively close to Wake Forest it has been a while since I have gone there or had a reason to. The race was a great introduction to a vibrant and inviting downtown area and I will certainly go there again very soon. I look forward to the 2010 edition of this race and hope for good weather so that more people can share the wonderful experience that I had this year.
