Andy,

It makes it all worth while when you receive feedback like that.

What a great experience. I really enjoyed the event and would love to be more
involved in the future. As far as the weather I think that you said it all
while we walked the course: "it is what it is". It rained. We know what to
expect when it rains. Things get wet. Prepare, and then get on with it. (I
think that a certain vendor learned what all campers and backpackers know: you
do not pitch a tent on low ground, especially when there is threat of rain...)

You did such an amazing job. You were all over the course and on top of things.
You took care of your road marshals, and every little detail. And, oh by the
way, you found time to race and took 5th in a very tough 45+ division
(wow...you guys were flying...)

I was impressed with everyone who worked the finish line. They tracked results;
counted laps, timed the races, announced the event throughout the day;
presented awards; and, did it for the entire day. And, kept up their enthusiasm
and did not miss a beat.

What a great crew. A virtual who's who of Raleigh cycling. I loved it.
Everywhere you turned there was a cyclist, or a lover of cycling. You would
have to be crazy not to want to be a part of this. I hope that my fellow Gyros
decide to race in this since I am sure that we can be competitive; epecially in
the 55+ or CAT 5 divisions. I will bug Tony to consider this next year.

And, Gary of TLC was set up very nicely to help with bike repairs. I think he
just might have gained some more believers. He is an excellent bike mechanic,
but, better yet he is passionate about it. I always said that I just don't
trust someone who does not have a passion.

Thanks for letting me be a part of what looks to be a big cycling event here in
the Triangle for many years to come.

Rick
