"Ditto" to Tony's note. Seeing that Gyro jersey on the Look will only bring
smiles - at any speed.
Glad to read you were able to get that ride in.

Hi Nance,

That's great that you got your ride in. Hey, I went out this morning for a
nice leisurely 15 miles at about the same pace. That's what cycling is all
about. Can't hammer all the time. Gotta smell and admire those flowers and
trees too.

Please keep me posted on what you decide regarding your knee.

For all you newbie Gyros, Nancy was our "original" B group organizer and leader
until her knee sidelined her.

Good to see you and hear from you.
Tony

Hey Tony,

it was sure good seeing you and the staff at the store yesterday. can you
believe that was the first time since the injury that i had the LOOK out??!!!?
i ended up with 18 miles at a 15mph and i was soooo happy. remember when this
would have made me mad? it was great feeling the burn in the quads, tasting
lung on the hills; it stirred up lots of memories of the good ole days. i miss
riding and socializing with the group.

i did get the second opinion today and the doc said replacement. he did say
that he would be willing to shoot me full of depo-medrol (cortisone), every 2-3
months so that i can get as many miles out of the knee as possible before any
drastic steps are taken. the replacement is about my only option since i have
had multiple scopes, extensive PT. lots of cortisone, synvisc etc
.
when i asked him about getting too many shots of cortisone because of the
damage that it can do to the soft tissue, cartilage, bone, or whatever, he said
that since mine was already extensively damaged and sooner or later i would be
getting a replacement then no big deal. if any one in the group is medically
savvy on this and would like to put in their two cents i would like to hear it.

but anyway, if you happen to see me decked out in my gyros jersey, on the look,
going 12 mph. please don't laugh :) take care and be safe.
Nancy
