Tony, would you say it's ok to ride your bike with aerobars but not ride IN
the aerobars so that you have access to your brakes and hands free in a
small group?

Subject: [Gyros: 13644] Important: For those who ride Areobars

G's,

I have been told that some of you who are new to the club and maybe even new
to riding with groups and have areobars are using your aerobars while riding
the paceline. Please keep in mind that using your aerobars creates an
unsafe environment and could potentially cause an accident within the group.
Riding aerobars puts you at a disadvantage should you need to apply your
brakes in a hurry. It is also hard to ride a straight line and we all know
what potential hazzard that can be especially in a double paceline.

There is only one case when riding aerobars is ok and that is when you are
pulling up front and that is the only time it is allowed.

There are a lot of rules when riding a paceline that everyone should follow
and they are all there for a reason and that is for the safety of the group.

To read more about riding the paceline, here is a link from our website:

So please, let's be safe, stay out of those aerobars and enjoy the ride.

Thanks,

Tony
