Rick, Here are my thoughts. While I appreciate the compliment but I was not the one that made the difference. This was a concerted effort in which everyone shared the work making for a nice smooth ride and, in turn, helping to keep up the pace. Officially, Hal said we finished at 20.1mph average. That is the end result of the hard effort shared by everyone.
Also, keeping the A's with the A's and the A-'s with the A-'s will help keep the rides in their designated formats. If any A's want to join the A- group for something different, then they should abide by the rules established by Hal and the group. I know Hal feels the same way and maybe he will interject his feelings on this too. I thoroughly enjoyed this ride yesterday and may join you guys again soon. Hal was the first one in with a nice sprint in the last 100 meters, but it was having Tony with us that made the difference. Hal and I sat on Tony and Grey's wheel all the way up Bahama, and I was content to stay this way until the break. But, Hal broke a rule of courtesy (attacking the guys who did all of the work), so I chased him down. Regardless of the rules of etiquette, it still was a nice piece of riding by Hal. (By the way, it was good having Ed back with his Fox News Network political commentary..) I have better news for the A- group. I rode home with Keil and he mentioned that he just might join us in the future, and he might have done so today had he figured out which group was which (we did have quite a few different rides going today). Imagine if we added Tony and Keil to one of our rides! We would have to remove the - from the A! Now, if we can convince Steve and Don Paige to drop down... Great job today, guys.
