The daylight disappeared quickly as the weather caught our group out tonight.
After a large stroke of lightning hit as we petaled down Six Forks to Possum
Track, Andy and most of the group pulled over to wait it out at the church on
the corner. Steve and I pushed on and stayed just ahead of the storm other
than some turbulent winds and a few rain drops, perfect conditions for
lightning strikes, until the stoplight at Raven Ridge and Falls of the Neuse.
Steve got caught at the light. It was windy, dark and eery as I petaled at a
furious pace down the last stretch to the Trek shop parking lot. The rain
started just as I threw my bike in my car. Hopefully all made it back safe.
