G's,

I wanted to clarify the message I sent out last night with regard to posting to
the club. I feel a need to do this because of the flood of emails I am
receiving.

I don't want people to feel like they are in some sort of violation of some
club rule by posting a message that may or may not fit club related or cycling
related criteria.

Hal's Senior Game accomplishments and Ryan announcing the birth of his son are
the kinds of emails we all want to hear about and relish in. This is what our
club is all about and was founded on. Remember - Friendships! Sharing our
experiences. Our trials and tribulations!

It's the replies like "Congratulations", "Great Job!", "Thanks for sending",
etc, etc. that people are complaining about. This is what should be sent
directly to the person it is intended for - not to the whole club.

No one is going to flip out if you hit the wrong button and send a message to
the club by mistake. I also don't want you to stop sending the banter or dirt
talk that we all like to read either. We need that kind of stuff to keep the
fight going.

All we are asking is that before you hit that "send" button that you consider
whether or not it is necessary for the whole club to read your message. Just
be thoughtful next time.

I hope this cleared up some things. We are not the Gyro Gestapo!

I am in the middle here and I hope that no one is or was offended.

Thanks again,
Tony

Subject: [Gyros: 14144] IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL MEMBERS

People,

I have done this many times in the past and it would appear that I need to
continue reminding everyone that if you are responding to an email sent by a
member and IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CLUB BUSINESS OR CYCLING PLEASE DO NOT
POST TO THE WHOLE CLUB.

I am getting complaints from members that there is just too much insignificant,
non-club related, non cycling related stuff filling up their inboxes.

That being said, if it is a topic of club concern or something the club should
know about then please, by all means post but if not please send your message
DIRECTLY to the person you are replying to and NOT to the whole club.

Thank you,
Tony
