This is the first year this course has ever been used for a half or full marathon. I don't think any of it is on "trails" in the sense of roots and rocks. The Tobacco Trail itself is level, wide, and smooth. There are also parts on roads. See <http://www.tobaccoroadmarathon.com/> www.tobaccoroadmarathon.com _____

I have not done this race but have heard that it is flat and the trails are wide and not technically challenging. Sounds like a good 13.1 for a first timer! I was wondering if any of our runners have done this course (half-marathon), and/or if you have any information to share regarding the race. I was hoping that anyone who has run this half-marathon is willing to share their experiences. The member is in very good shape, but is an inexperienced runner and would be new to this distance. I am a bit concerned that the course might be a bit too challenging for her first 13 miler. I understand that some of it is run on the trails. I appreciate any information that you can provide!
